I drove west this past Christmas to the Texas Hill Country.  The weather was delightfully cool and clear, so on my way to the small town of Kingsland I stopped along Ranch Road 1431 to capture this view of Lake Lyndon B. Johnson meandering below a rocky outcropping...

#1 - Christmas Holiday RoadTrip - 2009

#2 - “Teaser” Photo - for an upcoming post about the Appalachian Trail...

I had both a sublime, and a trying time this past summer while “sampling” 5 different small sections of the Appalachian Trail.  Check back here again soon and/or “subscribe” to find out why I took this close-up of my hiking boot ...

#3 - Handmade Wooden Toys ...

Another pleasure for me is making wooden toys for my grandkids, much like my own Super Dad did when I was a youngster.  Here is a paddle boat that was a gift for my first grandson, Owen  (who turned 3 on February 1st.)

#4 - Convention Creations ...

And here is an example of the special images I love to ADD to my professional assignments.  In late June (at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine/Dallas) I had the pleasure to photograph some 950 ladies of the Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women during their biennial National Convention. And this image highlights both the “Arrow” bracelet and the Wine Carnations that are part of their official insignia. After some thought, I decided to place the blooms within the bracelet.  I  then added the cap
tion in order to offer a lasting memento of their 2009 Trailblazing Convention.  And I will include some further samples of not only their jewelry, but both some “formal” poses as well as a number of fun images of the ladies themselves.  So please “stay tuned” for a more complete posting, which should be in a day or so . . .

Thanks for stopping by - Sincerely,
